project i’m working on for my body in photography class- the assignment is on metamorphosis- I chose to explore the ways in which I used to go to great lengths to try and change my body, attempting to place emphasis on the artificiality and strangeness of my former “beauty rituals”, many relating to body dysmorphic disorder

image descriptions in order:

-pulling back skin on my arm, attempting to visualize how I want my body to look
-silicone bra inserts, worn daily under padded bras
-pulling back skin on my thigh, attempting to visualize how I want my body to look
-plastic wrap around waist, encourages sweating to lose weight quickly
-immediate effects of chemical peel, causes painful burning of skin to reduce imperfections
-body makeup, worn daily to hide appearance of veins due to low blood pressure and anemia

interested in everyones constructive opinions, i consider this to be a work in progress
